Put your stock in
The one-time job: getting your items into the app by scan or by typing.
Last updated
This is the longest part of setting up and you only do it once. Work through a shelf at a time rather than trying to finish in one sitting.
Scanning
Point the camera at the barcode. If that product is already in the shared catalog — because another shop stocked it — the name, category and unit fill themselves in. You set the price and the quantity, and that item is done.
No barcode
Loose goods, homemade items and most vegetables have no barcode. Type the name. The app checks it against the catalog before creating anything new, so “Parle G 100g” and “parle-g 100 gm” do not become two products.
Batches and expiry
For anything that expires, add it as a batch with its own expiry date. Stock coming in later goes in as a new batch. The home screen puts what is close to expiring in front of you, so it becomes a decision instead of a loss you find on the shelf.
